Pouring rain...

It's pouring rain at the moment. In an area that gets less than 34 inches TOTAL precipitation annually, pouring rain is an unusual event. Even more unusual because it is May, normally a very dry month. This is a blessing...the hay fields are just turning green and the leaves have burst out on the trees. Such an important weekend for camping and BBQ's and bonfires, often ending in forest fires from careless embers. Yes, pouring rain in May, at the beginning of the holiday weekend, falling on the newly emerging grass.......oh what a wonderful blessing it is!!

Enjoy your day....

Hi Suzanne!

It's raining here in the Bluff Country of SE Minnesota (near the borders of WI., MN., and IA). I love an occasional rainy day as it's great light for photos!

What a beautiful bunch of lambs you have! Congratulations!! I can certainly empathize with your relief at being done with lambing.

I very much enjoyed my visit to your blog and would like to add a link to it to my blog. Would that be OK?

We got some heavy rain last night, too. Nice to have the garden and pastures watered. I hope you get a bumper crop of hay this year!

Hi Nancy! Glad you came to visit! Of course you can add my link, I think that would be nice - thank you!
Michelle - good for on the rain too. We all are getting spring rains on the northern tier it seems..that's a good thing...now for nice dry baling days too.

We have sunshine right now....but got a quarter inch yesterday.
Last year we got clover hay. This year it has been so cold the clover hasn't grown yet....and I just saw the farmer buzz past with his round baler.
I'll have to stand out in the road and stop him to see if he is going to cut us.
Many congratulations on being done with lambing, Suzanne....and anyone else.
We may have another week to go.

It's been raining off and on for close to a week - here in Nevada, the high desert rain shadow of the Sierras!!I love it so much I made time before work this morning to sit on the sofa for 20 minutes, knitting with the cat on my lap and pretending I might have this experience again some year. And it's been cloudy, beautiful big grey clouds. It smells wonderful!
